About this unit
HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting covers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants and children in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and other relevant Australian clinical guidance.
It applies to workers in education and care settings who may need to respond to first aid emergencies, including asthma and anaphylaxis emergencies. The unit may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.

- Responding to an emergency and assessing the situation
- Providing first aid to infants and children in line with current guidelines
- Responding to asthma and anaphylaxis emergencies
- Performing CPR in accordance with ARC guidelines
