About this unit
This unit covers contributing to work health and safety (WHS) risk management. It includes identifying WHS hazards, assessing the associated risks and contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of controls in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
It applies to people working in a broad range of roles and industries where hazard identification and risk-control processes are defined in workplace procedures.
What the training covers
- Accessing and reviewing information and data used to identify hazards and manage risk
- Consulting relevant workers, supervisors and other stakeholders during risk-management activities
- Identifying hazards and assessing the risks they present
- Contributing to suitable risk-control measures using workplace procedures
- Supporting implementation, communication and review of risk controls
Assessment and enrolment
Assessment must comply with WHS laws, legal responsibilities and duty-of-care requirements. It must take place in a safe setting that demonstrates typical WHS duties, with access to workplace equipment, technology, WHS laws, organisational procedures, case studies or real situations, and opportunities to interact with others. Confirm the provider’s delivery, assessment and workplace requirements before enrolling.
Licensing and prerequisites
