RIICRC309E Conduct stabiliser operations covers the skills and knowledge needed to operate and relocate stabilisers using different additive types and to carry out plant maintenance in civil construction environments.
The unit applies to people in operational roles who generally work under minimal supervision across varied work contexts.
What the training covers
- Planning and preparing stabiliser work, including hazards, controls, signage and equipment
- Completing pre-operational checks and reporting or rectifying faults
- Operating a stabiliser to job, site and manufacturer requirements
- Relocating, parking and shutting down a stabiliser safely
- Inspecting, servicing and completing minor plant maintenance
- Clearing the work area and cleaning, checking and storing equipment
Assessment requirements
Performance evidence includes conducting stabiliser operations on at least two occasions across two separate projects. This includes working with two different additive types over at least 500 square metres, completing pre-operational checks, operating and relocating the stabiliser, carrying out maintenance and keeping required records.
Assessment must provide access to a stabiliser, personal protective equipment and the equipment required to conduct stabiliser operations in a safe and relevant work environment.
